She looks familiar but ‘Allies Place’ has been given a new lease on life! This large two storey brick house has its own direct waterfront access perfect for fishing, crabbing or just relaxing.

Relax on the upper level L-shaped verandah and absorb the peaceful atmosphere. Recline with a book a cold beer or glass of wine and enjoy stunning afternoon sunsets watch the dolphins and turtles play on your doorstep or wander downstairs and across the front yard to fish from the rock wall area which is shared with adjacent private house.

This four bedroom house sleeping 8 people is centrally located in Amity Point village directly behind the Amity General Store and within walking distance of all amenities. Upstairs comprises two bedrooms with 1 x queen bed and 2 x singles, bathroom with shower & toilet and open plan living / dining space with airconditioning. The recently renovated kitchen with electric stove/cook-top, dishwasher and large fridge/freezer offers lots of storage space for the whole family. This kitchen opens onto the rear covered patio with outdoor setting and gas BBQ.

An internal staircase leads downstairs to another air-conditioned living space with TV, small sitting area and a ping-pong table! Another two bedrooms with 1 x queen and 2 x singles, second bathroom with shower & toilet, second fridge / freezer and laundry is also located on this level.

Dogs are also welcome strictly outside in the securely fenced rear yard area. There is ample street parking - room for a car and boat.

All bedrooms are air-conditioned and fully screened, though the windows leading to the waterfront off both living areas are not screened.

Please note, there is NO WIFI at this property.

Fresh linen is supplied inclusive of Quilts, sheets, pillowcases, towels, bath mats, hand towels and tea towels. The beds inside the property will be made for you on arrival, all you need to bring are the beach towels!

    To answer the questions put forward from Straddie Sales & Rentals -

    Did you have a good overall stay? Absolutely, love Amity Point.

    Was the vacation rental in a great location? Location is hard to beat, any rental along the rock wall is within walking distance to the main park, jetty, all shops and beach - just so easy and being able to watch the sunset every day from the back yard is stunning!

    Was the home clean and in good shape? The home had a few good points – the bathrooms were all very clean and had which looked like fairly new toilets. The kitchen has had a renovation BUT most of the cutlery, dishes and appliances were dirty. This is where the good points end – unfortunately the house overall is full of mould, dirty, rotting timber under the decks and has a hole in the ceiling downstairs and what looks like one about to merge in the bedroom upstairs. The property description/ amenities was accurate, and damage and cleanliness are all things to consider when choosing a property.

    Was the vacation rental management staff helpful? I have rented through Straddie Sales & Rentals several times, and each time they have been absolutely delightful to deal with. Noting is a problem – this visit the washing machine was playing up and I had a new one within a few hours! Staff are always so friendly and seem to enjoy their jobs!

    We gave this company adequate time to respond but they haven’t. We recently rented Allies place, a “renovated” house at Amity for 2 weeks at a cost of $3778
    The place was so rundown it was shocking. It was dirty, dangerous & just unkept.
    The worst was the bedside draw full of tissues filled with Spxrm! And dirty undies!
    This was the final straw
    We only found this with 5 nights left of our stay. We were so repulsed we asked for a refund of those 5 nights... we only got 2! We just could not stay there know this was in the top drawer next to where we slept along with the Wood rot, cobwebs , leaking roof & trying to sleep with a constant drip drip in the main bedroom, filthy windows. No heating - it was cold & wet
    A very dangerous patio & the roof about to collapse. There were holes in the asbestos and the toilet leaked from the pan so much so the floor was always damp
    The years of neglect of this property was disgusting. It was not a recent thing
    I wouldn’t want to ever rent from them again or use them as property managers. They provide no care whatsoever. I spoke to them over the phone and was told I’d be refunded the unused nights - we have followed through with zero communication from them
    They say it was dog friendly but not allowed inside??? The house was awful inside ... why ? The yard was not secured & there was gaps in the low fence where, by the neighbours own sign state that the dog there was classified as a dangerous dog!
    We feel camping would have been a much better option
    The worst experience ever - as I said - we asked them to reconsider the $800 refund but we were ignored
    Oh and there was no off street parking - there was a garage but it was locked to us. We had to park on the street & we’re constantly parked in by overnight campers and people fishing - let alone the stress of where it was outside

    We were totally blown away away with the waterfront position of our holiday rental. From the stunning sunrise , to the active waters during the day seeing fish, turtles, dolphins and many fishing boats and snorkels to the magic sunsets over Brisbane ... I couldn’t recommend more highly the location. The home is an older style but it was clean and tidy.

    The property itself is very tired , some general maintenance on the windows and doors and the rear gutter on the main bedroom side would be a start.
